1872 3CN EF40 ANACS “Gifford 1872B05 Plate Coin, ALLAN GIFFORD COLLECTION” – listed on holder. This actual coin is pictured on the 1872B05 page of the Gifford book. The coin has light toning and some wispy scattered hairlines. Allan Gifford wrote The Ultimate Guide to US 3 Cent Nickels, 1865 to 1889, released in 2003. His coins were sold in two Scotsman Coins Auctions in 2011 and I had some of them certified by ANACS with his collection’s name listed on the holder’s label.
